The Sealy Municipal Court is available to assist you in taking care of your citation(s).
Please use the PLEA FORM below to enter a plea for a particular citation.
If you wish to enter a plea of NOT GUILTY, you must indicate so in the proper space provided, and the charge will be set on the pre-trial docket. If you wish to enter a plea of GUILTY or NO CONTEST, please indicate so in the proper space. A plea of no contest means that you do not contest the State’s charge(s) against you. You will be found guilty on a plea of no contest. Either plea indicates that you agree to waive your right to a trial by jury or by judge.
Be prepared to pay fine(s) in full on court appearance date, if you are found guilty. If you fail to appear in court, as required by law, you may be denied the renewal of your driver’s license and assessed an additional fee. Please wait three (3) business days before contacting the court regarding your citation(s).

JUVENILES
JUVENILES ARE REQUIRED TO APPEAR IN OPEN COURT FOR ALL PROCEEDINGS.
All persons 16 years of age or under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
A child and parent required to appear before the court have an obligation to provide the court in writing with the current address and residence of the child. The obligation does not end when the child reaches age 17. On or before the seventh day after the date the child or parent changes residence, the child or parent MUST notify the court of the current address in writing. A violation of this statute (Art. 45.057 (h) CCP) may result in arrest and is a Class C misdemeanor.

If you require time to pay your fine, you must appear in court on your arraignment date and
make payment arrangements with the Judge. On all cases that are not paid in full within 30 days
of the judgment date, a $25.00 time payment fee will be added to each violation.

RESETS
If you need to reset the court date the officer has given you, you must request the reset in writing, post-marked by your court date. NO RESETS WILL BE GRANTED OVER THE TELEPHONE.
DISMISSALS
Citations for no proof of insurance will be dismissed at no charge upon presentation to the court of proof that the vehicle or driver was covered by a valid liability insurance policy at the time the citation was issued, and provided said proof is presented to the court on or before your appearance date.
Dismissal fees will be assessed for the following offenses upon presentation to the court of compliance within twenty (20)
business days of the date of the citation:
• Expired License Plates/Registration - $20.00 Dismissal Fee
(A violation for expired license plates can only be dismissed if the 20% delinquent registration
fee is paid to the County Assessor-Collector when renewing the vehicle registration.)
• Expired Motor Vehicle Inspection - $20.00 Dismissal Fee (If the motor vehicle inspection
was expired for more than 60 days, it is not eligible for dismissal.)
• Expired Driver’s License - $20.00 Dismissal Fee
• Change of Address on Driver’s License - $10.00 Dismissal Fee
• Fail to Display Driver’s License on Demand - $10.00 Dismissal Fee
• Operate Motor Vehicle Without One License Plate - $10.00 Dismissal Fee
• Display Altered, Unclean, or Obscured License Plates - $10.00 Dismissal Fee
• Defective Equipment - $10.00 Dismissal Fee
• Violate Driver’s License Restriction or Endorsement - $10.00 Dismissal Fee
Proof of compliance includes copies of receipts, driver’s license, and driver’s license renewal receipts.
