UTILITY WORKER II:
The
City of Sealy Water/Wastewater Department is seeking qualified
applicants for the position of Utility Worker II to perform duties
essential in operating and maintaining the City’s water distribution
and wastewater collection system, including making waking water and
sewer taps, repairing water and sewer leaks, and performing
preventive and corrective maintenance on water and sewer lines.
There will be some meter reading and public contact.
There is strenuous physical work outdoors and some after
hours work. Minimum
qualifications include:
High School diploma or GED required; must have a valid Texas Driver
License and an acceptable driving record; must be able to obtain a
“D” Water and Wastewater Certification within one (1) year; one (1)
year experience in water or wastewater utility operations or
construction is preferred; or any equivalent combination of
experience and training, which provides the required knowledge,
skills, and abilities; ability to operate backhoe, dump truck, and
various hand held tools is preferred.
Hourly salary range is:
$13.85 to $18.30 (negotiable with experience), plus
certification/education pay.
