Municipal Court

The Sealy Municipal Court provides effective, efficient, and impartial service to all who participate in the local municipal court system. Please allow three (3) business days from the date of your citation before contacting the court. This waiting period is necessary since your citation must be filed with the court before we will be able to assist you.  Most of the questions you have may be answered on this site or the courtesy handout the officer provided you with.  If you have misplaced the Courtesy Handout which was provided on or after 9.1.19, you may obtain one by clicking the previous link.

IMPORTANT:  86th Legislative Update changes took effect on 9-1-19.  Individuals with citations prior to 9-1-19 will need to refer to this Courtesy Handout Rev. 7.18.19.  Amounts due to the court will reflect the correct previous 85th Legislative Update.

Please Note: During the course of your traffic stop, the officer collected your telephone information for court purposes.  This number may be used to provide you with a courtesy phone call and or text message.  (ie. reminder of appearance date, reminder of payment due to avoid a capias pro fine warrant for non-payment, notice prior to an arrest warrant being issued for failure to appear, etc.)  It is important to notify the court of any contact information changes so we may keep your record up to date.  You may email a clerk listed below with the update.

If you would like to opt out of future courtesy calls, please contact the court at 979-885-6733 or call 1-855-502-7867.  Thank you.

Any case that is not paid in full within 30 days of the judgment date will have a $25.00 state mandated time payment fee added to it.
If you qualify to take a Driver Safety Course and you wish to make a request to do so, DO NOT pay the citation.  You may visit the link below for further instructions on making the request.
If you do not wish to pay online or by credit or debit card, you may always mail in your payment in the full amount with a Money Order or Cashier's Check. We DO NOT accept personal or company checks. They will be returned. All payments must be mailed on or before the appearance date on your citation to be processed.

Driver Responsibility Program (DRP): Repealed effective 9-1-19

INFORMATION FROM the Texas Department of Public Safety:

The  Driver Responsibility Program (DRP) has been repealed.  Effective 9-1-19, all DRP surcharge suspensions will end.  The Department of Public Safety (DPS) will no longer assess DRP points for moving violations.  Any previously assessed points have been removed from your record.   All surcharge assessments will be waived and no future surcharges will be assessed.  You will still be responsible for any other suspensions, fines or fees on your driver record, including non-surcharge related suspensions, fines, or fees.

To check the status of your driving privilege or pay reinstatement fees click texas.gov/driver.  You will need your DL/ID number, date of birth, and the last four digits of our social security number.  Please be aware driver records update on a daily basis.  The information on this site reflects the status of your driver record as of today.  Any additional convictions reported by a court after today could cause additional enforcement actions or fees on our record.

If your Texas license has been expired less than two years, you may be eligible to replace it online, click texas.gov.  If your Texas license has been expired more than two years or you have never had a license, click forms for a list of required documents.

No payments made on your surcharge accounts prior to 9-1-19 will be refunded.  Those payments were collected under the laws in place at that time.  This includes Advance Payments made on surcharge accounts.

This repeal means that the program has ended, however, any suspensions that resulted from surcharges while the DRP was in effect will remain on your driving history.

Contact the Driver License Customer Service Center at DRPRepeal@dps.texas.gov if you have additional questions.  You must include your full name, date of birth, driver license or ID card number, and your phone number.

It is important to note that Failure to Appear is NOT related to surcharges.  Under the Failure to Appear/Failure to Pay Program, the Department may deny the renewal of a driver license if you have failed to appear for a citation or failed to satisfy a judgment ordering the payment of a fine.  Your driver license may be denied renewal until the reported citations or violations are cleared and reported by the court to the Department.

Failure to Appear:

Click the image to see whether you have an outstanding warrant in any Texas court and whether there is a hold on the ability to renew your driver's license.   Amount due may differ from what the court has on file.  This is due to collection fees being added 60 days after initially being reported to DPS.  Please keep in mind that all warrants will remain active until you make arrangements with the court.
